~ *Punch RIMSHOT* ~
There are many drummer-a new drummer, even a long playing drums do not know the blow is called rimshot.
One day when I became one of the assessment team at the time of audition drum festival (music) in 2000, I saw 2 or 3 people drummer who played with a hard blow, but why his snare sound still does not sound (sound is, but sound slow and not sharp). This is a normal punch. Drumhead stick only hit the tip alone, the sound is not really focused much less if struck hard and fast drumhead will be concave.
This is a blow Rimshot.
